Learn how to safely use a DPV and explore more with Dive Now Whangarei
Explore more underwater with the SSI DPV (Diver Propulsion Vehicle) course! Learn to use underwater scooters to cover greater distances, conserve energy, and experience thrilling new dive adventures. Perfect for divers seeking excitement!
Perhaps you are tired of struggling in current, or have a long way to swim to a dive site, or just like the idea of whizzing around underwater on a powerful DPV?
During this course you will learn how to care for and operate your DPV so it gives you years of great service.
Why choose to use a DPV?
Using a Diver Propulsion Vehicle (DPV) for scuba diving offers several exciting advantages:
Cover More Ground: A DPV allows you to explore larger areas in less time, making it ideal for dives with big sites, like wrecks or reefs, that are spread out.
Conserve Energy: Instead of kicking the whole dive, a DPV does the work for you, letting you conserve your energy and air, extending your dive time. Perfect for tech divers, in fact it’s safety tool for them.
Greater Depths and Longer Distances: DPVs enable divers to travel to deeper or more remote sites that would otherwise be hard to reach, opening up new opportunities for adventure.
Fun and Excitement: Gliding through the water with a DPV adds a thrilling element to diving, giving you a sense of speed and freedom like never before.
Less Current Resistance: In strong currents, using a DPV helps you move through the water more efficiently without exhausting yourself.
Overall, DPVs make diving more fun, efficient, and accessible, especially for those looking to explore larger or more challenging underwater environments.
