DRYSUIT REPAIRS

Drysuit repairs and servicing

We offer a full repair service on ALL MAKES of drysuits.  We have taken over from Rob Edward at South Coast Drysuits and are the authorised distributer and repair centre in NZ for all SANTI drysuits.   However, we can repair Fourth Element, DUI, BARE, Otter, Scubapro, Mares and Oceandry just to name a few.

Our team are avid divers and dive in drysuits all year around, so we know the importance of a working suit and the frustrations of being without it.  Feel free to contact us about what needs doing to your suit and receive a best guess quote over the phone.  We can then reassess when we get your suit here.

Sending your drysuit for repair:

If you’d like us to work on your suit then just send it into us.  Please include the following information:  Name, Contact Phone number and Email, Return Address and a description of the work you need done.  If you’d like a quote before we get started then just let us know.

Simply package up your suit and send it to:

Dive Now, 41 Clyde Street, Whangarei, 0110

We try and turnaround suits as quickly as we can but usually offer a 3 week turnaround (it’s normally shorter than this). If you have a particular dive that you need your suit back for then just let us know and we can try and accommodate this for you.

Dry Suit repair

Drysuit Repairs and Services offered

Annual Drysuit Inspections

We can offer a suit inspection that includes a valve service and dump check.  We go over the suit inside and out looking at the condition of the suit including seals, zips, seams and tape.  We perform a service on the inflator mechanism and clean the dump and check it works correctly.

Leak Tests

If you know of a problem on your suit, letting us know can speed up finding the problem.

We can inflate the suit and spray it with soapy water to look for leaks.  This test is not 100% guaranteed to find a problem in all instances, but works most with most issues.  We also have the luxury to jump into our onsite training pool to find a known problem.  Wearing a light coloured under suit and a dry inside of the drysuit, we immerse the known area into the pool for a short time and then exit the pool and carefully remove the suit and look for wet patches on the under suit.

As frustrating as it may be, sometimes a suit will not show the cause of its leak easily.  For example; Neoprene suits, the leak can start at one location and the leak can travel through the neoprene and appear somewhere else.

Punture repairs

We can patch, tape or reseal a puncture on a suit.  Neoprene seals can be repaired, but if the damage is too much, replacing them would be a better option.

Dry Suit Seals

Drysuit Neck and Wrist Seal replacements

Latex wrist and neck seals

If the seal that is on the suit is the correct size and we can identify the size, that’s all we need.  But sometimes we will need the circumference of your neck or wrist to confirm we have the correct size before we install the replacement.

Neoprene wrist and neck seals

We make our own neoprene seals using either 3mm or 5mm Yamamoto neoprene.  We will use your current seal as a template if it is in good condition and the correct size, or we can make it using your neck or wrist circumference.  Neoprene seals are more labour intensive than a LATEX seal.  Also the Yamamoto neoprene costs more than Latex seals.  But they will last much longer than a Latex seal if cared for.

Yamamoto neoprene is not derived from petrochemicals in any way, but is made from limestone taken from the mountains in Japan, in the same way concrete is made.

Dry Suit Zips

Zip replacements

“She’s a big job mate.”   But. we have it covered for most suits.

One of the most time intensive and complicated repairs is the zip.  So it is important that it’s done correctly.

We stock a wide range of plastic and brass zips.  Occasionally a suit will have an HD Brass zips with wider teeth.  Depending on the size we might need to order this in specially for you from our supplier. These zips cost about an extra $120 and if we don’t have your size in stock, can take an additional 2 to 3 weeks for them to arrive at Dive Now.

Dry Suit Boots and socks

Drysuit Boots and Socks replacements

“Now that’s an even bigger job mate”. But don’t worry, we can do this too.

We have a range of boots and socks available.  If you are unsure of your size or you are changing the style of your boots or socks then we will normally send you down a couple of pairs to try on to ensure that we get the size right before installing.

We look forward to helping you stay warm and dry.
