The Gardens
The Gardens is a very popular site for the charters that bring novice divers and snorkellers here due to its protected location and shallow depths. You can often pass this site and see multiple dive boats here.
Well if you do get a chance to come here and it’s not full of boats, do take time to complete a dive here as it’s a very pretty dive site that acts like a nusery for younger fish.
Diver Level Open Water and above
Depths 5m to 20m+
Great site for all, new divers, snorkellers, freedivers and experienced divers
Close to the cliffs the depths range from 5m to 10m and it can hide some gems. Painted Moke, scores of snapper, angelfish and even eaglerays can be found amongst the variety of seaweeds. If you are lucky enough to visit when it is full of shrimp, then you will not be able to see your buddy through the feeding fish.
As you swim away from the cliff you will cross kelp, sand patches and even sunken bowls where large snapper, giant boarfish and porae hide. As you continue on you will hit the sand line at the 18m mark and beyond. This is a great place during the summer to watch for stingrays.
Green and Orange wrasse can be found amongst the kelp, Goatfish and friendly Sandaggers wrasse can be found close to the floor.
We have been lucky enough to see sunfish here cruising between the Gardens and Riko Riko Cave.
