PADI Rescue Diver Course

Rewarding and fun; best describes the PADI Rescue Diver course. This course gives you valuable hands-on experience in emergency management and problem solving and prevention. You’ll learn to perform diver assists and rescues, manage dive accident scenarios and render first aid.

These are the skills that can make all the difference in the unlikely event of an underwater emergency. Although challenging, many divers say this is the best course they've ever undertaken.

We understand you have a busy lifestyle and your leisure time is important to you and so we will be moving to "eLearning", on-line study that you can do on your Laptop ot Tablet device in your own time.    The theory part must be completed before we begin the in water training.

Course costs | $499 

Cost includes all PADI training, certification and study materials.

Charters and Gear rental not included.


  • Be 15 years or older

  • Have a PADI Advanced Open Water Diver certification (or have a qualifying certification from another organisation)

  • Current First Aid certification - within 24 months

If First Aid course is needed, we can be provided with the Emergency First Response course- $200

Course Requirements:

Your own dive equipment including computer, DSMB & reel, cutting tools, torch and compass.

Emergency Pocket Mask for rescue breathing

All other necessary equipment can be rented from us for the duration of the course.


Please Note: To enroll in a scuba diving course, you must complete the "Medical Statement Form".  It may be necessary to obtain a DIVE medical completed within the last 12 months. Click here to download a medical statement form.

Transportation is not provided by Dive Now Whangarei, but we do our best to help organise car pooling to the dive sites.
